IFT installs flooring at CALA’s new Jordanhill Park development

Contracted by CALA Homes, and working with Anderson Floor Warming and Renewables, IFT installed screed at CALA’s new development in Glasgow’s West End. Designed by 7N Architects with interiors specialists Envision, the new CALA development sits within a parkland setting at the former Strathclyde University site.

The IFT team laid minimum 30mm renovation screeds, reinforced with glass fibre mesh, on the ground floors of the apartment block, and Cemfloor high performance, free flowing, self-compacting screed to the upper floors. Anderson Floor Warming and Renewables completed the insulation and underfloor heating design and installation.

The design for this project was complex in order to allow for the best performance and maximum output, while being limited to a minimal floor thickness due to floor zone restrictions. The screeds chosen by the IFT team can be laid in very thin sections on underfloor heating whilst still providing excellent strength and thermal conductivity.
