IFT shortlisted for Family Business Award

IFT shortlisted for Family Business Award

IFT is delighted to have been shortlisted for the Family Business category Award at the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2017. The Awards will celebrate their 20th anniversary this year and the finalists will be announced on the 5th October.

The family business was first established in 1970 as Protective Services (Contracts) Ltd and has grown from humble beginnings into a business employing 40 staff with offices in East Kilbride and Bishop Auckland. Jim and Adrienne Love started the IFT journey from the back of the kitchen in their house in Eaglesham. Jim’s sister Marion joined the company in 1981 as Office Manager, then Jim’s nephew, William Clark, join as Sales and Contracts Manager in 1995 and Jim’s niece, Karen McHugh, join the business in 1993. It was in 2003 that Jim was joined by his son-in-law Nick, and shortly afterwards his son Greg joined the business who has subsequently taken over from Jim as Managing Director. Family values are key to the development and the success of this business. Although not ‘family’ by blood, a large number of the staff have been with IFT since its inception, and loyalty is key to the way the business has grown.
