Anhydrite Screeds

The chemistry of anhydrite screeds differs from traditional screed in that calcium sulphate is the binder component in place of cement with the product supplied in bulk by major concrete suppliers. Cemex Supaflo, Bardon Highflow, Tarmac Truflo and Lafarge Gyvlon are the most commonly available brands of anhydrite screeds.

The major points and benefits of Anhydrite Screeds are:

  • Delivered by mixer truck then discharged directly to a screed pump and pumped to the point of application where it is poured onto the floor and dappled to produce a smooth finish.
  • Outputs of up to 1500sqm/day can be achieved by a skilled team.
  • Fluid consistency makes it the ideal screed for encapsulation of underfloor heating pipes.
  • Low co-efficient of thermal expansion.
  • Can be laid at thinner sections than traditional screed. 35mm. to 80mm. in floating configuration.
  • Less susceptible to shrinkage cracking and does not curl.
  • Will withstand light traffic after 24-48hours.
  • Dries at a similar rate to unmodified sand cement screed but can be laid at thinner section and can be force dried after only seven days.

Industrial Floor Treatments has an unrivalled track record of successful anhydrite screeds installation in office and residential developments, schools and hospitals, as well as to individual domestic projects.
